Help bring a little extra warmth to the holiday season.
The Sanneh Foundation is partnering with NBA legend Willie Burton and friends for the All Star Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway at Conway Community Center. We will be giving out 250 free turkeys to community members. Volunteers play an important role in keeping the event running smoothly and welcoming every family who attends.
Shift Details:
Location: Conway Community Center- 2090 Conway Street, St. Paul, MN 55119
Date: Sunday November 23
Time: 10:00-12:00 *or until Turkeys distributed
Parking: Please park in the overflow lot behind Conway Community Center. You can access this lot through the Sun Ray Library parking lot off Wilson Ave.
Activities include:
Handing out turkeys and food boxes to community members
Greeting families and helping organize the line
Helping with traffic flow and crowd guidance
General clean up once the event wraps up
What to Expect:
Volunteers will be standing and walking outdoors for most of the shift. Lifting and carrying turkeys and food boxes up to 30 to 40 pounds may be required.
This is a busy, fast paced event with a high volume of people.
We can accommodate volunteers who need a stool or cannot lift heavy items.
What to Bring:
Closed toed shoes
Warm, comfortable clothing and layers suitable for the weather
A water bottle
