Who We Are
Founded as a youth sports organization in 2003 by former World Cup soccer player and native Minnesotan, Tony Sanneh, The Sanneh Foundation has broadened its reach and now provides a broad swath of services to address the social determinants of health across Minnesota. Our goal is to eliminate Minnesota's steep racial and ethnic disparities in health outcomes, education, and income.
The Sanneh Foundation leads by listening to community members and providing services that are culturally-responsive, empower community members, and improve lives. With an increasingly diverse state, the Foundation is at the forefront of meeting the needs of underserved communities so that every Minnesotan can grow up with the education, health care, home life, and strong community to support them in reaching their full potential.
What We Do
The Nutritional Services team works together to improve the lives of our community members who are experiencing hunger by safely and efficiently distributing donated products from food rescue partner agencies to hundreds of households each week around the Twin Cities. With the support of generous volunteers and our community, our program also empowers youth through on-the-job training where we coordinate a different free food distribution Monday thru Friday, rain or shine! Our team also packs grocery boxes for several partnering organizations throughout the week and works to connect those needing food to meals fitting their needs. We couldn't do this work without your enthusiastic participation and the help of our communities united around this critical need for food for our neighbors. Thank you!
